level 15 cannot be solved

cool otherwise.

They can all be solved.

Great, but...

The controls keep freezing up on me. Pausing doesn't seem to fix it.

Wut

How do I shoot the cannon?

Twelve Games?

I only see six you've uploaded. Were the other six not that good?

Also as I am someone who's always wanted to learn how to make games but never had much luck with it, what can you tell me about Flixel?

GregoryWeir responds:

Some of the games haven't been put up on Newgrounds yet, and some weren't done in Flash.

Flixel's great, but it's really most useful to people who already know a decent amount of AS3. If you do, it really streamlines your coding and development. You can check it out at flixel.org.

No way to retry

That's kind of a fatal flaw in games like this - also there are some places yopu cannot suicide from.

for the sewer guy

click the toilet guy's face until it turns red and he shits a brick,, flush, and knock the sewer guy's hat off. No clue how to kill the gut in the toilet though.

If you knew

Just how hard it is to make a real FPS with flash, you'd know this deserves frontpage. sure it's over the shoulder but it's good.

Hmm

I see some stuff outside in the first castle, but have no idea to find a secret passage. Otherwise cool but feelsa like it needs a save feature.

Fuck double dash and fuck that worm boss

I've died so many times when i was trying to move carefully because of that "ability". and then it launches spawn. Is there any way to turn it off?

bitpimp responds:

DOWN WITH THE WORM BOSS! I need to adjust respawning at some point. Adding badges is what we are coding up now, so that will have to wait. You can do it man! You can do it!

Agh.

Cool game, neat concept - but I have to ask why we don't get weapons.

A lot of early sidescrolling puzzle games, such as Out of this World or Flashback, had no problem letting you use a weapon, and they were awesome. So why not this one? Seriously, too many Puzzle/Platformer type games these days deny you weapons when there's no in-universe justification for it.

EntropicOrder responds:

"I have tried beating them with sticks, shoving them off into the pits, and even jumping on their heads, but there seems to be no physical way to hurt these creatures. Their howls echo loudly in my skull, leaving me a little less willing to continue on each time. Did that shadowy man sick them on me? Are they like him? What is he even? For now I will just have to avoid them, and see if I can make my way through this strange place."

There's plenty of items and abilities we have in reality that aren't available in any game out there without in-universe justification. I think too many games try to emulate as much of reality as possible and I rather enjoy old school games where you have to play by their rules, not the other way around. That's where my inspiration is from, and in this game I wanted a somewhat casual game of exploration and puzzle solving more than straight action. I understand this isn't for everyone though, and some people just want more action.

I am planning to make a platformer with combat in it in the future though.
